Troubleshooting Alarms and Reminders
Alarm did not fire
Check the reminder is enabled
- List view: bell should be blue (filled), not grey with a slash.
- Event editor: Reminder should be Alarm, not None or Notification.
Check alarm permission
- iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Alarms → Rouzz must be allowed.
- The event editor shows "Alarms are off" if permission is denied.
Check the event is not in the past
- Rouzz will not schedule a reminder whose fire time has already passed.
- Past events show a disabled bell in the list.
Check the calendar is visible
- Hidden calendars are excluded from alarm scheduling.
- Go to Settings → Calendars and turn the calendar on.
AlarmKit system limit
- iOS limits how many AlarmKit alarms can be registered at once across all apps.
- Rouzz prioritizes the nearest enabled events within a rolling 3-week window.
- If you have many events with alarms enabled, distant events may not be scheduled until they enter the window.
- Consider enabling alarms only for events you truly need loud alerts for.
Return to the app
- Rouzz reschedules alarms on launch, foreground return, and background refresh.
- Open Rouzz after adding events in another app to ensure alarms are registered.
Notification did not appear
Check reminder type
- Notifications require Notification selected in the editor — the list bell only toggles alarms.
Check notification permission
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Rouzz must allow alerts.
Silent Mode and Focus
- Unlike alarms, notifications respect Silent Mode and Focus. Use Alarm if you need to break through.
Events missing from Rouzz
Calendar access
- Enable calendar permission for Rouzz in iOS Settings.
Calendar visibility
- Turn on the calendar in Settings → Calendars.
Sync delay
- Tap Settings → Refresh Calendars to force a sync.
Wrong account
- Rouzz shows calendars on this device only. Events must exist in a synced calendar.
Watch snooze or dismiss not working
Watch actions require the iPhone to be reachable via WatchConnectivity. Keep both devices nearby and ensure the phone is unlocked or awake.
