Reminders, Alarms, and Notifications

Each event in Rouzz can have one of three reminder types. You set this in the event editor under Reminder.

None

No reminder from Rouzz. The event still appears on your calendar, but Rouzz will not alert you.

Imported events from other calendars default to None — alarms are opt-in so Rouzz does not exhaust iOS's limited alarm slots on launch.

Notification

A standard iOS notification banner. Notifications:

Use notifications when you want a gentle nudge without a loud alarm.

Alarm

A full-screen system alarm powered by AlarmKit. Alarms:

New events you create in Rouzz default to Alarm.

Where to set the reminder type

Location What you can set
Event editor None, Notification, or Alarm — full control
List view bell button Toggles Alarm on/off only (does not switch to Notification)

If you previously set a notification in the editor and then use the list bell, Rouzz replaces it with an alarm (or turns reminders off).

Calendar alerts vs Rouzz reminders

Events may also have alerts configured in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or other apps. Rouzz shows these as read-only Calendar alerts in the editor. They are independent of Rouzz's reminder settings — you may receive both if both are configured.
