Getting Started with Rouzz
Rouzz is a calendar app for iPhone that schedules loud, attention-grabbing alarms for your events. It reads from the calendars already on your device — iCloud, Google, Exchange, and others — and lets you turn on full-screen alarms that break through Silent Mode and Focus.
Requirements
- iPhone running iOS 26 or later — Rouzz uses Apple's AlarmKit, which is available on iOS 26+.
- Apple Watch (optional) — Rouzz includes a watchOS companion app for upcoming events and alarm controls.
First launch
When you open Rouzz for the first time, onboarding walks you through:
- Welcome — a quick introduction to the app.
- Alarm access — permission to schedule system alarms via AlarmKit.
- Notification access — permission for standard notification reminders (optional but recommended).
- Calendar access — permission to read and write your calendar events.
- Choose calendars — pick which calendars Rouzz should display.
- Product preview — see how alarm takeovers and cross-device alerts work.
- Recap — summary of what you set up.
- Rouzz Unlimited — subscribe to unlock premium features (existing subscribers can skip the paywall).
Grant calendar and alarm permissions when prompted. Without calendar access, Rouzz cannot show your events. Without alarm permission, full-screen alarms will not fire.
Main screen overview
After onboarding, you land on the main calendar screen:
- Gear icon (top left) — opens Settings.
- Search icon (top right, in List view) — search events by title or location.
- Bottom toolbar — Today button, Month/List view toggle, and Add Event (+) button.
Quick start checklist
- Open Settings → Calendars and make sure the calendars you care about are turned on.
- Switch to List view and tap the bell on an upcoming event to enable an alarm.
- Tap + to create a new event — alarms are enabled by default for events you create in Rouzz.
- Install the Apple Watch app to see upcoming events and respond to alarms from your wrist.
Where events come from
Rouzz does not replace your calendar accounts. Events are stored in EventKit and sync through whatever accounts you already use (iCloud, Google, etc.). Changes you make in Rouzz appear in Apple Calendar and other apps that share the same calendars.
