Alarm and Notification Permissions

Rouzz uses two separate iOS permissions for reminders. You need the right one for the reminder type you choose.

Alarm permission (AlarmKit)

Required for Alarm reminders — the loud, full-screen alerts that break through Silent Mode.

Granting alarm access

During onboarding, Rouzz asks for alarm permission. You can also enable it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Alarms → Rouzz (wording may vary by iOS version).

Rouzz requires iOS 26 or later because AlarmKit is only available on iOS 26+.

If alarm permission is denied

• The event editor shows "Alarms are off" when you select Alarm as the reminder type.
• You cannot save an event with an alarm until permission is granted.
• Tap the banner to open iOS Settings.

Notification permission

Required for Notification reminders — standard iOS notification banners.

Granting notification access

During onboarding, Rouzz asks for notification permission. Enable it in Settings → Notifications → Rouzz if you skipped or denied it earlier.

If notification permission is denied

• The event editor shows "Notifications are off" when you select Notification.
• You cannot save an event with a notification reminder until permission is granted.

Permission vs reminder type

You can use Rouzz as a calendar viewer without either permission, but reminders will not fire until the matching permission is enabled.

Re-checking after changing Settings

Rouzz re-checks permission status when you return to the app. After enabling a permission in iOS Settings, switch back to Rouzz and try saving the event again.
